building for renewal

Our vision is to see the gospel of Jesus Christ renew Springboro and the surrounding area. We see this building as a place of renewal for Springboro, Dayton, Cincinnati, and the world.

RADICAL HOSPITALITY

King’s Cross’ purpose is to follow Christ in his mission of renewing life. The purchase and renovation of this building allows us to live out our church value of radical hospitality by creating a space accessible to so many in Springboro where people can come, worship and be renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

RELATIONAL DISCIPLESHIP

Because of our desire for relational discipleship, specifically towards the next generation, the classrooms, playground, and kid friendly environment will allow us to immediately serve the young families that make up the majority of our community.

GENEROUS RENEWAL

Our desire is to renew this building and put it to use for the Kingdom. We see its renewal as a beautiful picture of what Christ is doing in our lives; taking that which is old and making it new again by redeeming it for its intended use. Beyond making this building usable, this initiative is about creating a generous spirit in our church and personal lives. This involves considering how we can practice generosity in our own lives.

1. PRIMARY GOAL: 100% ENGAGEMENT

2. SECONDARY GOAL: $1.45M

More than anything, Building For Renewal is a discipleship initiative. As a church family, we want to grow in our faith, learning about God and about ourselves. Can you imagine what would happen if every single one of us at King’s Cross chose to build for renewal? To engage, grow in generosity, and become more like Christ? We want everyone involved: Our goal is 100% engagement.
We are trusting God for our secondary goal is to raise $1.45 million over the next two years: $375k for our annual budget for 2 years, $330k for the purchase of the building, $250k for renovations and $120k to pay down our debt.May God work through us as we seek to renew others as we have been renewed.

WHAT'S NEXT?

1. PRAY: WHOLE–HEARTEDLY & PERSISTENTLY
Jesus tells a parable about how prayer is like a child who asks a father to provide what he desires, how that father will want to meet the needs of his child. How much more generous is our heavenly Father to us when we ask him! Throughout this Building For Renewal series pray as if you are a child asking his father for provision. Pray for his faithfulness to be revealed through this entire initiative. (Luke 11:1–13)
2. PARTICIPATE: FULLY & FAITHFULLY
Help us reach our goal of 100% engagement. Come to worship with us each Sunday, ask God to reveal what you need to hear and learn from his Word, and commit to being open to all that God asks of you. Give yourself to him fully and faithfully. (Matthew 6:33)
3. GIVE: GENEROUSLY, CHEERFULLY, EXPECTANTLY
Ask God to show you what generous, faith-stretching giving looks like for you and your family. Wrestle with and decide how much you’re going to give. When the time comes, give cheerfully. Expect God to use your giving for his Kingdom renewal in your life and in the lives of others. (2 Corinthians 9:6–8)
4. CELEBRATE: JOYFULLY & FREELY
Our church desires to follow Christ in his mission of renewing life for the glory of God. Building For Renewal is an opportunity to put this into practice by celebrating what God has done and will do through this initiative in our own lives and in the Springboro area by freely serving others and showing them the radical hospitality of Christ. (Psalm 95:2, Galatians 5:13–14)
